History of Gaythorne Gaythorne got its name from an estate owned by Howard Bliss, which was located within the suburb's borders. In 1977, Methodist, Congregational, and Presbyterian churches were merged into the Uniting Church of Australia. Later on, this was named the Gaythorne Uniting Church. Cameron Bros. sold subdivided parcels of land of Rangeview Estate Enoggera in May 1919, in the Enoggera area. Rifle Range Railway Station (formerly known as Gaythorne Station) was five minutes distant, according to the auction map. The unsold property was re-offered in April 1921 as "Gaythorne & Rangeview Estates" by brokers Cameron Bros.
