Overview Goodna is a suburb located on the eastern edge of the City of Ipswich in Queensland, Australia. It is located 20 km from the Brisbane central business district. The location of the suburb is the centre point between Brisbane and Ipswich. In the 2016 census, Goodna recorded a population of 10,461 people.

History of Goodna Goodna was occupied by the Yerongpan people and situated in the Yugarabul traditional Aboriginal country. These people used to speak Yuggera or Jagera Durubulic language group and were custodians within the traditional Yurarabul country. The first Europeans visited the area in 1823, and the exploration team was led by John Oxley. At that time, the area has extensive beds of sandstone. In 1826, Patrick Logan started providing building materials by establishing the Woogaroo Quarry. Earlier, the suburb was a farming community and dealt primarily with cotton, sugar, livestock, and timber.
