History Gooseberry Hill is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Kalamunda. It is the site of Gooseberry Hill National Park. In the early 1900s, a man named Otto Jones bought a block of land in Western Australia and went about building a road to his property. He was successful in his endeavors and eventually made enough money from farming to build a house with the same name as his property.In 1905, he sold the property to a woman named Lucy Gooseberry. She then renamed it to “Gooseberry Hill” and proceeded to have two children with her husband.
