History of Hadspen The town of Hadspen was known initially as Reibey’s Ford. It was named by the settlement of one George Frankland, a surveyor of land back in the 1800s. It was said that the name Hadspen came from an estate in Somerset, England, of the same name. Historically, Hadspen has some of the most exciting histories as it is the home of the Church of the Good Shepherd up to the Red Feather Inn. Up to this day, there is an excellent reminder of the historical roots of the town.
