Overview Johnston is an eastern suburb of the Palmerston area. It is a new locality surrounded by Bakewell, Zuccoli, Gunn, Farrar, and Howard Springs. The Stuart Highway passes through its eastern section and stretches to other neighbouring areas. Two estates encompass Johnston―Johnston Ridge on the north and Johnston The Parks on the west. And in 2016, it had 2,027 residents.
Living in Johnston Johnston is a recent suburb in Palmerston with a handful of apartment buildings and residential homes. It is not as busy as other localities but is rapidly growing. History of Johnston Johnston earned its name from a notable person in Northern Territory during the 19th century. Commodore Eric Eugene Johnston served as the territory’s administrator from 1981 up to 1989. Even with its long-running history, Johnston was only officially registered as a suburb in 2007. This is the main reason why it is considered as one of Palmerston’s newest sections.
