History of Manly
Cpt Arthur Phillip had named this area Manly Cove after the confident behaviour shown by the local people belonging to a clan known as Kay-ye-my. Since the mid-1800s, this area was being developed into a whaling harbour and a source of fresh water. While various historical events occurred here, it was only in 1937 that Manly Town Hall was inaugurated.
