Manoora is bordered by the suburbs of Whitfield, Edge Hill, Manunda, Kanimbia, Mooroolbool, and Westcourt.
Living in Manoora Manoora is a very leafy suburb located west of the city centre in Cairns. It is accessible through the Cairns Western Arterial Road. This area is known for its cheap housing prices and low-cost standard of living. And yet, it is close to the city centre and is well-serviced by a wide range of amenities and services. It has its own shopping centre, fast food chain outlets, Woolworths supermarket branch, and a tavern, all located within the suburb’s commercial centre. It is also home to the Cairns Indigenous Art Centre, which was established to protect and preserve the culture of the Aboriginal people that once lived in the area.
History of Manoora Manoora is located within a traditional Aboriginal country that the Yidinji people inhabited. The suburb was named after the HMAS Manoora that was named after a town in South Australia.
