Isis Central can be found in the southeastern region of North Isis, while Redridge and Horton are on the west of the town. Farnsfield and Gregory are situated north, and Apple Tree Creek and Childers are located the south of North Isis. With a land area of 73.8 square kilometres and has around 7,145 inhabitants as of 2016.

History of North Isis Bundaberg Regional Council was established in 2008 by combining Isis Shire, which includes North Isis, with Bundaberg City and two other townships covering a total area of 1,701 square kilometres around 60 kilometres west of Hervey Bay. The Isis River, which originates in the southwest of the region and flows into the Burrum Inlet on the western edge of Hervey Bay, was the origin for the name of this town. European surveyors discovered the river and compared it to the Isis River located in Oxford, England, resulting in the suburb's name.
