History of Palmview Palmview was initially the land of Gubbi Gubbi Aboriginals, who lived in south-eastern Queensland. The European advent resulted in many of them being poisoned, shot at and displaced in the 1840s and 1850s. Despite fierce resistance, the colonial settlers established farms and pastoral stations occupying the modern-day Palmview. It then became a logging and farming centre. The suburb grew after the Bruce Highway connected the area with Sunshine Coast and Brisbane.
