History of Pelican Waters Originally, Pelican Waters was called Loch Lamerough when William Landsborough bought 2,372 acres of land in 1881. When Landsborough died in 1886, his property was sold to real estate agent Roy Henzell to cover his debts. The agency of Henzell created the Pelican Waters in 1989 by constructing a canal estate from the wetlands of the Bell Creek. However, it was named only by the year 1995 as proposed by its land developer.
