History of Pimpama Back in the 1850s, Pimpama was under a politician and squatter named William Duckett White. He was leasing out 20,000 acres of the area between Coomera and Logan Rivers and a portion of Hotham Creek. A compact settlement was developed in the area of Pimpama River in the 1960s. However, it was abandoned when the focus was redirected to Hotham Creek. A massive chunk of Pimpama was offered for sale to the public by the private holders shortly afterwards, and as a result, White had to give up his leasehold properties in the area. Hotham Creek and Pimpama River were combined because of the sale, and Pimpana was formally established.
