Overview Romsey is a suburb situated 61 km north of Melbourne, Victoria, as part of the Shire of Macedon Ranges. It is enclosed by other rural communities, including Rochford, Lancefield, Springfield, Monegeetta, Kerrie, and Hesket. The Main Street divides the expanse into eastern and western sections, while Romsey Road splits up the northern and southern parts and extends to other suburbs. Based on the 2016 data, the number of people living in the town is 5,070.
Living in Romsey Romsey is a beautiful town set within the Macedon Ranges, offering scenic nature views. This small, quiet community is continuously evolving, with many projects in progress and on the way. At present, it has an array of facilities, including a supermarket, skate park, medical centres, playgrounds, and parks. Most of the residential homes and commercial spots are located along Barry Street and Main Street. History of Romsey The town's original site was located around 2 km north of its current location, and it was formerly called the Five Mile Creek. One of the oldest buildings in the area is the Royal Mail Hotel, which is still existent up to the present time as a private residence. Within the structure is the Post Office, which was established in 1858. It was later transferred closer to the township centre in 1864.
