Overview Runaway Bay is a seaside suburb situated in Gold Coast City. Oxley Drive and Pine Ridge can be found to its west, Broadwater to the east, Poinsettia Avenue to the north, and Coombabah Road and Biggera Creek traced to the south. Most of the territorial land of Runaway Bay is set for residential purposes except the area to its northwest, where a section of Pine Ridge Conservation Park is built. As of 2016, this suburb has a population size of 37434.
Living in Runaway Bay Runaway Bay is a waterfront area in the City of Gold Coast that its people and visitors love because it is perfect for yachting, boating, and fishing. But aside from the closeness to nature that it offers, Runaway Bay is also an excellent spot for shopping, eating, coffee, and recreational activities.

History of Runaway Bay Robert George Oates acquired 350 acres of property between Biggera Creek and Broadwater in 1939. (around Bayview Street). By the mid-1950s, there was town water and roughly 50 fixed and seasonal dwellings. The place's transformation into a residential and boating area began in 1972. The name "Runaway Bay" was given to the area to promote it as a peaceful retreat.
