History of Sherwood In the Sherwood Estate Township, John F. Buckland had 268 suburban blocks to offer on the 24th of October, 1885. The better part of the blocks was in the area that Oxley Road bounded. Although approximately only 40 blocks could be sold. 23rd of June, 1888, marks when John F. Buckland offered the leftover 200 suburban blocks to the Township of Sherwood Estate. It formerly served as the judge Pope Alexander Cooper’s home, whose demise happened in 1923.
