History of Spring Mountain The area was forested when early European settlers arrived there. The Spring Mountain Forest Park and the Spring Mountain Reserve continue as the remnants of the area's geography. It soon became a place for the timber trade. With the rise in settlements, many areas were cleared of forest and used as grazing grounds. When the Greater Springfield project began in 1993, Spring Mountain became a part of it. Soon a planned residential community came up with civic amenities, parks, schools, shopping centres and an abundance of green space.
