The centre of Strathdale is an extensive parkland stretching southwards from McIvor Highway. The Strathdale-White Hills Road borders the suburb.

History of Strathdale Strathdale used to be part of the Shire of Strathfieldsaye. With a municipal amalgamation in 1994, this suburb became part of Greater Bendigo City.
Strathdale used to be a water reserve with the reservoirs of the Grassy Flat. It had an abandoned hall that was under the Kennington Reserve Committee. The hall was remodelled for the Strathfieldsaye Shire. As urbanisation surged, the northern part of the Kennington Reserve became Strathdale Park and had a community hall and several sports fields.
