Overview Sutherland is a suburb based in the southwest portion of Sydney. In the Sutherland Shire, the locality is intersected by various roads, including The Grand Parade, Linden Street, and Old Princes Highway. On the other hand, the extensive Princes Highway outlines the eastern and southern sections. The Sutherland Station also passes through the area, from north to south. The second theory referred to the first parish built along George River. The “Parish of Southerland” was given by Thomas Mitchell, an early surveyor during the 18th century.
