Living in Kirrawee Kirrawee is a lovely suburb in the Sutherland Shire that offers a variety of residential homes, apartments, and luxury villas. One of the most notable yet highly debated improvements in the area is the Kirrawee Brick Pit. Situated within the heart of the suburb, this large-scale development project features both residential and retail facilities. A series of restaurants, cafes, shops, children’s amenities, and parks are dotted along the area. And just a short distance from the southern point is the vast stretch of Royal National Park.

History of Kirrawee According to the Sutherland Shire Council, there are two possible theories behind Kirrawee’s name. The first one is it originated from the Aboriginal term that means lengthy. The second theory is it refers to a Dharawal word that means place of white cockatoos. From 1912 to 1979, the suburb focused on various industrial services. Afterwards, a deep pit was discovered within the area, which then became a natural lagoon. Over the years, this was developed and is now the location of the Kirrawee Brick Pit.
