History of Tabragalba The town of Tabragalba gets its name from a local pastoral station, which was established in 1843. The name is taken from the Bundjalung language and was also used for an early local government area called the Tabragalba Division, which was later converted into the Shire of Tabragalba. The Tabragalba Provisional School opened on 24 April 1907 and was renamed the Tabragalba State School on 1 January 1909. The school later closed down on 11 July 1945.
