History of Boyland The name of the locality sprang from George Boyland, the former chairman of the Tamborine Shire Council. He was also one of the supporters who opted to develop the Canungra branch railway. In 1927, the Boyland Post Office was formed but was eventually shut down after 18 years. Another notable structure within the town is the Boyland railway station, operational between 1915 and 1955.
