Overview Thurgoona is an outer suburb of the city of Albury, New South Wales. It is neighboured by the suburbs of Springdale Heights, Table Top/ Ettamogah, Bowna, Lavington, Wirlinga, East Albury, and Lake Hume.
According to the 2016 census, 8,656 people call Thurgoona their home.

History of Thurgoona A post office in Thurgoona opened in January of 1874 but was closed in 1961.
The first land lease in the area took place in 1978, and during that time, the suburb was undergoing massive development. Roads and highways were built during this time, and the Thurgoona Golf Club was also opened. In the late 1980s, a hotel and a shopping centre were constructed in the suburb. It was also around this time when the Thurgoona Public School and the Thurgoona Industrial Park were opened.
