History of Toogoom From the land of Toongoom pastoral run, 11,000 acres were resumed for the establishment of smaller farms. On the 17th of April 1877, it had been offered for selection. 30th of January 1918 marks the opening of the Toogoom State School, but due to a low number of students, it got winded up lately in 1923. It was reopened on the 30th of January 1934, although it got closed again 5 years later.
