History of Walkerston The river itself brought about the discovery of the town of Walkerston. Walkerston used to be commonly known as Scrubby Creek. The creeks were named between 1866 and the next year until Baker’s Creek and Walkerston. Scrubby Creek is no longer a nickname that is used today.
