History of Westcourt Westcourt is situated in the Yidinji traditional Aboriginal country. The land where Westcourt is located was a dairy farm, which was subdivided in 1886. On 1 September 1973, Westcourt was named a locality, and on 7 June 2002, it was designated as a suburb. The local sports ground, Jones Park, is named after two brothers Jack Jones and Henry Ernest Jones, who donated their land to the Crain’s District Junior Rugby League.
