It is located on the western bank of the Hawkesbury River, in the outer regions of northwest Sydney. According to the 2016 census, Wilberforce has a population of 33,934 people and is situated 61 kilometres northeast of Sydney and the M2. It is also about 6 kilometres north of Windsor on the Hawkesbury River.
