The Wiley family bought the estate from him in 1862 and became a major landowner around present-day Bankstown. In 1906, J.V. Wiley, the heir to the family estate, donated 20-acre land to have a local recreational park named Wiley Park. After it, the area also became known as Wiley Park and soon grew due to its central location between major urban hubs.
