Overview Windsor, an inner suburb in the north of the City of Brisbane, Queensland, covers an area of 2.8 square kilometres and had a population of 7,013 (2016 census). Windsor is surrounded by the suburbs of Grange, Albion, Wilston, Bowen Hills, and Herston.

Windsor is 5.5 kilometres northeast of the city centre of Brisbane and is within the LGA of the City of Brisbane.

Living in Windsor Windsor is mainly a residential suburb and is one of the oldest suburbs of Brisbane. Its landscape is lined with luxurious old homes, heritage-listed buildings, and regal Queenslanders.

The low-lying areas of the suburb enjoy the tranquillity from Enoggera Creek, and the hilly areas have astonishing views of the city. Although it is just five minutes from the city, Windsor is a quiet community, and residents do not get the feel of the busy area.

History of Windsor In 1854, the area where the Windsor suburb now sits was an isolated part of the then New South Wales. In 1887, the golden jubilee year of Queen Victoria, the Shire of Windsor, was established and named after England's Windsor Castle.
