Overview Wyoming is a suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia, and is also a part of the Central Coast Council local government area. It is neighboured by the following suburbs: Narara, Gosford, Niagara Park, North Gosford, Lisarow, and Mount Elliot. As of the 2016 census, the population of Wyoming was 67,195.

It is located in an ideal location, just four kilometres northeast of Gosford’s central business district. History of Wyoming The Kuringgai people, an Aboriginal tribe, are the historical inhabitants of the Wyoming area. In 1824, Frederick Augustus Hely purchased 1,340 acres of land adjacent to the Narara Reserve and named it after the Wyoming Valley in Pennsylvania. Hely died before his house in Wyoming could be completed, and now his mausoleum lies beside the Pacific Highway at Wyoming. The first building in Wyoming was the local pub, built in 1854 by convicts and still stands today.
