History of Balnarring Beach 1886 was when the suburb was initially gazetted, and its street configuration is quite different from the present one. In the 1940s, it began to appeal to holidaymakers, kiosks and beach stores commenced operations and served both campers and day-trippers. Subsequently to the formation of Davidson Motorcycle Club in 1924, it set its base in this area. Servicemen were training at Somers during the 2nd world war, and businesses were sustained. 1944 marks Wally turner operating a mobile library from a private home for the Flinders Shire. On the 1st of July 1947, the Balnarring Beach post office was opened, and in 1978, it was winded up.
