History of Berserker Berserker got its name from the Berserker Range. The range was named after Baresark, the Norse warrior who is known to have fought bravely without armour in the Norwegian sagas. Berserker State School came up in 1917 and was renamed Berserker Street State School. Another school was opened in 1956 and named North Rockhampton State High School.
