Overview Branyan is a riverside locality within the Bundaberg region. It is rural bounded by the Burnett River on the west side and Childers Road on the east section. The place itself features a combination of scenic water views and plain to rolling landscapes. Just 7 km away from Bundaberg Central, it had a recorded population of 4,134 people back in 2016.
Living in Branyan Branyan is mainly a residential area with houses dotted on specific sections of the locality. The surroundings are vast green spaces, making it a nice place to live in. With the Burnett River on the side, this adds up to its cosy suburban lifestyle and relaxing ambience. Whilst there aren’t many modern structures in the suburb, Branyan takes pride in the Sandy Hook recreational precinct.
This wonderful spot is where the Australian Grand Prix for speedboats holds its annual event. At this time of the year, locals and visitors bask under the sun to enjoy different watersports. Branyan also houses a few heritage sites, plus it is close to the Bundaberg Regional Airport.
History of Branyan Branyan’s first educational ground―Branyan Road Provisional School―was established in April 1905. It was then changed into Bryan State School in 1909 and eventually transitioned into Independent Public School in 2016.
