History of Broadbeach
In 1934, the South Coast Bulletin announced that the Department of Lands released 280 acres of vacant crown lands to make way for a new seaside township along the Southport-Burleigh, now known as Broadbeach. In the 1940s, it was reported that Broadbeach had only five residents, which pushed the Lennons Hotel Group to buy land occupied by a sand mine in 1953. Since then, the town started growing and developing and is now a widely-known spot on Gold Coast.
