*History of Carbrook Carbrook was previously known as Gramzow, a German name of a village in Uckermark, Northern Germany. This was the name early German settlers gave to the area when they arrived in 1867.
During World War I, German names were so unpopular. So, in 1916, Gramzow was renamed Carbrook. Carbrook was, until 1948, part of the Shire of Tingalpa.
