Overview Roughly 36 km southeast of Brisbane, Redland Bay lies at the southern end of Redland City. Redland Bay is bounded by Mount Cotton, Woongoolba, Carbrook, Alberton, Southern Morton Bay Islands, and Victoria Point.
It is a semi-rural coastal area with a population of just around 15000. Redland Bay has predominantly been a farming and fishing-based locality since the mid-1800s. However, after developing a far better transport system and a more superior infrastructural development, a more significant part of the population now commute into Brisbane for work.
Living in Redland Bay Moreton Bay Figs, Serpentine Creek Road Cemetery, and Redland Bay State School Residence are heritage sites. They have a Mobile library, a lot of nature parks and reserves, and waterfronts.
History of Redland Bay Cottonwood trees were widespread here. The tree was locally known as Talwalpin, and the same name also knew the area at first. Locally milled cedar wood acquired from felling the cedar trees in the local forests was used to construct the earliest houses here.
