History of Chirnside Park In 1838, the area of Chirnside Park was used for extensive grazing. This area was developed until the 1920s. When it was subdivided, Chirnside Park was then known as Mooroolbark Park. The name was derived from property owner George Chirnside who bought this land in 1921 and moved his grazing farm to this area.
