Overview Como is a Perth suburb in Western Australia. Governed by the City of South Perth, the suburb has a population of 12,423 people. The Canning Highway divides the neighbourhood, and the Canning and Swan Rivers separate Como from the rest of Perth to the west. Como, part of the City of South Perth's municipality, grew rapidly in the 1950s and 1960s, with moderate growth since the early 1990s as new homes were built in the region.

Living in Como Parks and Reserves are a significant element of the Como landscape, such as the international quality 27-hole Collier Park Golf Course, one of the city's most notable characteristics. The Como Hotel is a well-known bar, café, and restaurant in the neighbourhood and a prominent landmark on Canning Highway. There are a few stores in the neighbourhood and four local schools, including Penrhos College, to meet local needs.

History of Como Edmund Hugh Comer, a Christchurch farmer, purchased three land grants in February 1891 to become the suburb of Como. In 1905, the estate was subdivided under the name Como Estate, which is assumed to be either from the owner's surname or the same-named area in northern Italy. The City of South Perth includes Como.
