Overview Connells Point is a suburb in the St. Georges area of southern Sydney, New South Wales. It is part of the Georges River Council local government area situated 20 km south of Sydney’s central business district. Connells Point is neighboured by a few suburbs such as Hurtsville, Hurtsville Grove, South Hurtsville, Oatley, Blakehurst, Oyster Bay, Kangaroo Point, and Kyle Bay.
Living in Connells Point Connells Point is a small residential suburb and an affluent community. Only 10% of the residents are tenants, and all homeowners live in private housing developments. It is also a safe neighbourhood with very low crime rates. The suburb is moderately leafy, and its location provides access to various bodies of water. Connells Bay and Donnelly Park are two of the major landmarks in the suburb. It is accessible via major thoroughfares such as the Woniora Road Hurtsville and King Georges Road. History of Connells Point Along with nearby Connell Bay, Connells Point was named after Charles Daniel O’Connell, who owned a piece of land in the area. The name itself was based on the geographical formation beside the bay. The site was historically used for shipbuilding before it was developed into a suburb.
