Overview Hurstville Grove is a Sydney neighbourhood in the Australian state of NSW. It is positioned 19 kilometres south of Sydney's city centre and is part of the Georges River Authority's local government in the St George region. Hurstville Grove spans between Hillcrest Road to the Georges River's Oatley Bay beach. Moreover, Hillcrest Boulevard is primarily domestic, with several stores. Hurstville and South Hurstville are two of its distinct communities to the northeast.
Living in Hurstville Grove Hurstville Grove is a beautiful hidden treasure nestled along the beaches of Oatley Harbour and the National Reserve's lush parklands. History of Hurstville Grove In 1850, Michael Gannon (1800–61) purchased the area, which has become recognised as Gannon's Woods. This Gannon's Forest postal service first opened its doors in 1881. Educational Inspector MacIntyre renamed the local public school Hurstville in 1876. So when the railway came in 1884, the stop was christened "Hurstville" just after school. Then, Hurstville became a town in 1887.
