Overview Dunmore is a large suburb located in New South Wales state of Australia. The South Coast railway line and Princes Highway bisects the region into north and south. The small area has a population of 208 as per the 2016 census. Most of the current City of Shellharbour was part of the 13,000 acres Peterborough Estate, granted initially for discharge to the colonial politician and convict, D’Arcy Wentworth, in 1821.

The name is the birthplace of the Fuller in Galway County in Ireland. He played a prominent role in developing the local basalt quarry in the district that started the settlement and development of the area. The community has an Anglican College, which opened in 2004.
