Overview East Lindfield is a suburb located 13 kilometres northwest of the Sydney Central Business District and lies on the Upper North Shore of Sydney in the New South Wales State. According to the 2016 population census, the suburb was occupied by 3,711 residents.

History of East Lindfield Lindfield defines ‘lime tree field’, and the area was settled in 1850 by an early landowner named Mr List. He called the suburb after his house in Sussex, England. In the 1890s, the railway line came through the area, and in 1950, the development occurred in East Lindfield. In 1994, East Lindfield became a separate suburb from Lindfield. Most of the houses in the suburb are new and of a different style.
