Fairfield is a suburb seated northeast of Melbourne City, as part of both Darebin and Yarra cities. It is stationed 6 km away from the Melbourne CBD near Thornbury, Northcote, Alphington, Clifton Hill, Abbotsford, and Kew.

Fairfield is a lovely town that offers easy access to the city through the railway station located on the Hurstbridge line. On top of that, the suburb also has bus services. The locality is primarily residential, though a small section on the northeast remains a light industrial section. History of Fairfield
In 1887, the Fairfield Post Office was established. The suburb initially shares a section in the Heidelberg community. However, it became a part of Northcote. At present, Fairfield is included in the city of Darebin and Yarra. One of the oldest buildings in the area is the Grandview Hotel, a three-storey structure built in 1888.
