History of Forestdale A large portion of the land that later became Forestdale was owned by George Stretton, a publican and mail contractor, which the neighbourhood of Stretton was named after. Urban developments took a while before hitting the area; it was only in the early 1980s that residential properties were built. At the time, the developers of the land used the name ‘Forestdale’ to refer to the place. The Logan City Council approved the name in May 1986.
