As of the 2016 census, Glen Huntly has a population of 5,040.

History of Glen Huntly Since its establishment, the suburb has always been called Glen Huntly. However, the railway that opened in 1881 was named Glen Huntly Road and was renamed Glen Huntly in 1882 until it was again renamed Glenhuntly in 1937. Even the post office here was spelled differently. In 1907, the post office was named Glenhuntly but was then renamed in 1993 as Glen Huntly.
