Overview Kings Beach is a coastal suburb that lies in the southeast portion of Sunshine Coast region. The locality fronts onto the beautiful Coral Sea, featuring a vast stretch of sandy beach on its southwest and a rocky headland on the southeast. With its elevated topography, the area is fairly hilly. Both Queen Street and King Street connect at the north section while other roads such as Moreton Parade, Burgess Street, and Edmund Street intersect at the center. In the 2016 census, the suburb tallied a population of 56,733.

History of Kings Beach Kings Beach acquired its name from the initial European settlers in the area, the King Family. Before living in Kings Beach, the clan resided in the dwelling of James Moffat. They eventually moved to the locality in 1893. One of the oldest structures in the community is St Andrew’s Anglican Church, which was established in 1939. Another historical site is the Wickham Head, a headland situated at the boundary of the suburb. This was believed to be the location of the sunken hospital ship in 1943.
