History of Mount Pleasant The Cornish families establish a school while setting up tents above the creek. It couldn't save itself from the gold rush's chaos that began in 1856 and continued for quite some years. 1870 marks the establishment of numerous Chinese market gardens along the creek.
Its tent school gained some popularity and became a famous denominational school. With the introduction of compulsory, secular education, free of cost, the era of Methodist school came to an end and winded up in 1874.
