Overview Nambour QLD is a village and community in Queensland, Australia's Central Coast District. Nambour has a total of 11,187 people, according to the 2016 census, and is located 101 km (63 miles) north of Brisbane, which is the biggest city. The village is located in the Sunshine Region's tropical climate hinterland, at the base of the Blackall Ranges.
It became the executive and town of the Maroochy Shire before becoming the official residence of the Sunshine Coastal Belt. Surrounding communities, including Burnside, Coes Creek, and Perwillowen, are part of the larger Nambour area.

It was the term coined for the town's oldest mission station, founded by William Samwell in 1870.
