Overview Padstow is a suburb nestled within Canterbury-Bankstown City. Settled 22 km from Sydney CBD, the area outlines the eastern section of the Southern Sydney region. It is encircled by Bankstown on the north, Riverwood and Peakhurst on the east, Padstow Heights on the south, and Revesby on the west. The Revesby Station divides the north and south zones while the S Western Motorway and Milperra Road pass through the northern expanse. The total population of Padstow in 2016 was 16,845.

Living in Padstow Padstow is primarily a residential neighbourhood that is conveniently stationed within the Southern Sydney expanse. With the T8 trail line, it's easy for you to travel back and forth. Plus, there are several bus stops scattered around. Public schools and learning centres are also available. The shopping hub is situated near Padstow railway station. A handful of shops and restaurants occupy the southern part, while most industrial facilities are dotted at the northern end, along M5 South Western Motorway.

History of Padstow The suburb was initially called Padstow Park Estate, which derived from the Padstow town of Cornwall, England. The name signifies "the holy place of St Petrock", a distinguished Cornish saint. Subsequently, the area was included in the land grants of earlier settlers, including Simon McGuigan, Michael Conroy, and Joseph Cunningham. In 1927, Padstow Park was established, which became the turning point for the area's development. Then in 1939, the suburb officially became Padstow.
