Living in Peakhurst Peakhurst is often called “Peaky” by the locals. This quiet neighbourhood is nearby various shopping hubs in Mortdale, Roseland, and Hurstville. The commercial centre in the area is dotted along Forest Road and Boundary Road, where you’ll find a selection of restaurants, retail shops, and cafes. On the other hand, Boundary Road shelters the industrial section of the suburb. There are also a couple of schools, recreational venues, and churches within the zone.

History of Peakhurst In 1838, John Robert Peake, a renowned landlord, purchased an expanse along Forest Road and Henry Lawson Drive. He then became the origin of the suburb’s name. In 1855, Peake offered a portion of the land, which is now the location of Wesleyan Church. The post office was established afterwards in 1885. One of the earliest industries in the area was timber-cutting and subsequently followed by orchard farming.
