It is 18 km from the CBD and is included in the St George region, particularly the local government sections of George River Council and Canterbury-Bankstown City. The locality is often considered the sister town of Beverly Hills, hence having the same postcode of 2209. Broad Arrow Road is the primary street in the expanse, which stretches from Kings Georges Road to Bonds Road. This particular road also serves as the boundary between the southern and northern portions of Canterbury-Bankstown and George River Council.

History of Narwee Derived from an Aboriginal term, Narwee technically means “sun”. This is significantly associated with the original name of the suburb, which was Sunning Hill Farm. The name Narwee was officially acknowledged during the establishment of the railway station in 1931. During the earlier years, the residents focused on poultry farming and market gardening. But when the railway was completed, they slowly transitioned into residential expansions. In 1948, the post office was built.
