History of Narwee Derived from an Aboriginal term, Narwee technically means “sun”. This is significantly associated with the original name of the suburb, which was Sunning Hill Farm. The name Narwee was officially acknowledged during the establishment of the railway station in 1931. During the earlier years, the residents focused on poultry farming and market gardening. But when the railway was completed, they slowly transitioned into residential expansions. In 1948, the post office was built.
