Overview Pallara is an outer southern suburb of the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It is located 19 km south of the Brisbane central business district. As recorded in the 2016 census, Pallara had a population of 511 people.

History of Pallara The name Pallara was derived from a non-local Aboriginal word spelt with only one. Pallara, in the Aboriginal language, means flat land. Until 1961 when electricity supply reached the suburb, it was undeveloped as there wasn't anything due to lack of electricity. The area's development began in 1997 when the Pallara Parklands were opened. The parklands were opened on a remediated dump. Today, the suburb is preferred by families, individuals, and professionals.
